It’s coming…

January 22: My test build got stripped back, I can successfully post an update from a local file.

  • I am now building a Firefox Addon from the ground up.

January 14: I’ve made a test build using the source of the del.icio.us official addon.

  • The Twitter addon now installs instead of downloading as an *.xpi after setting up the MIME content on the server
  • Addon installs itself before vanishing from the Extensions listings and proceeded to kill my Firefox instance, I’m blaming unique IDs or a bug in my conversion
  • I’ve got the submit form data out as well as the main links to appear on the top menu

March 17: Trying to find time…

  • I’m speaking to folk in #firefox on Freenode as well as #extdev on mozilla.org, making slow progress…

I’ve put this project up on sticks for the moment.

My focus is currently on the Australian marketing community and I’m having to prioritise my time. Ludicrous’s Firefox Search Twitter Plugin is a great and simple addon for your twittering desire; just remember to flick your default search back after sending!

  1. [...] Twitter is like a Massive Multiplayer Online Chat Client. Twitter provides a collective stream of consciousness that tells you who is doing what and why and where and when. And in one instant, you’re suddenly updated about all your favourite people and what they have been up to overnight while their part of the globe lived through its day. If you use one of the Twitter apps, like Twitterific for Mac or Twitteroo for Windows, you’re not far from that vision of desktop connectivity (a Firefox add-on appears to be underway). [...]
